After passing the BPI Building Science Principles exam, the next step is Building Analyst Technician (BA-T). This class teaches you to conduct residential building science-based interior/exterior whole home inspections, data collection, diagnostic tests including combustion safety, carbon monoxide testing, gas leak testing, blower door testing using the “house as a system approach.” Students use the equipment they learn about during the training. This is a four hour field test,with a passing grade of 70% or higher.
There is no written exam for BA-T. For this certification, you must take a 4-hour field exam with an approved BPI Test Center and an approved proctor. North Pond Home Performance Training Center is an BPI approved training center.
